autobiography. complete.

here is my very deep autobiography based on the underlined quote. (see mrs. boye? i blogged about it! my surprisingly short autobiography! :D)

My Autobiography - A Creative Writing Assignment

“Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.”

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved stories. I love writing, telling, and reading stories. I also love blogging and journaling! Writing is either recording down information or telling a story. When I was younger I would make up stories for my little sister Cara to listen to. “Can you tell me a story?” Cara would come listen to me tell a story every morning. A good writer always starts out as a good storyteller! Writing can make a huge impact and will stick in your mind. Writing can change the world! Those are two reasons that books and other writings should be worth reading. When writing, you need to be writing about something worthwhile. Or, you need to be doing something in your life that is worth writing about. When I learned how to walk as a little munchkin, my mom wrote it down in my baby book. Before I could write, I would tell Mom different things and she would write them down. When I started middle school and high school, I journaled about it. As I have been working on the Do Hard Things conference, I have been blogging about it. When different people accomplish big things, they and their accomplishments are written about. For example, there are many books about Benjamin Franklin, including his own autobiography, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. He did many great things for our nation and it was worth recording down into books. Not all books are about real people’s accomplishments, though. There are many books that are fictional and are worth reading. Many books that are worthwhile are exciting, wholesome, and intriguing. I love writing and it is one of my favorite pastimes.

autobiography

I am writing an autobiography on my life based on this quote:

"Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing."

That is what my quote is as of now. hahaha. It's going to be interesting... *cough* ~:-)

Banquet, fun friends, conference, and other good stuff

Hey friends!

Whoops I have been slackin' off on the blogging lately! ahhh our life has been very busy!

Only FOUR more weeks of school! Can you hear the Hallelujah chorus? :o)

This past Friday was the annual MTHEA Teen Banquet of 2010! It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! I had a really great time!!

I had bought a dress (remember- the blue one?) but after looking at pics from last year, I began to think it might not be fancy enough for the occasion. I had to be at the church at 4 PM to get ready with some girlfriends. At 2:30 I told Mom about my dress concerns and showed her some pics. "Well," she said, "we have an hour. Let's run over to Macy's and we can just look." We dashed over and found a "70% off today only" rack of cute dresses. Mom and I frantically started grabbing any dresses that might fit. It was the first dress I tried on. It was a super cute black dress that fit great. "This is it!" Mom said. I tried on a couple more dresses just to make sure it was "the dress." Mom said that even if it wasn't the dress I wore to banquet, we were buying it! We went to check out. The original price was $160 and the sale price on the ticket was $96. The cashier told us it would be $86. "It was on the sale rack with a sign that said 70% off today only," Mom told the cashier. "Well, it was not supposed to be there, but I'll give it to you." And guess how much it was?! $24 + tax= $27! Whoo hoo!! It was totally a God thing! It made me super happy and I love my dress!

Ahh- banquet was so much fun! I went early and the fabulous Mrs. Tallman did our makeup, which looked amazing! Maddie took our pictures and then we had dinner! haha yesss we were table ten- and the favorite table of the Master of Ceremonies! We were the last table to get called to go get our food from the buffet style meal. Yum! It was all delicious! After the very fun banquet I spent the night with Linds! yay!

On Saturday morning I was very excited to get to have lunch with two dear friends- Jenny and Jaclyn! It was so good to hang out with them! And I got $0.59 earrings at Francesca's in the Hill Center! Score!

On Friday we had our first conference meeting with all of the Nashville coordinators! I am working on getting my FIFTY team members... God is faithful though and He has a plan! Yesterday I was feeling kind of discouraged about the conference. I felt encouraged though after getting my Hendersonville contact! (and I promise to not freak out the next time the conference is discussed! :D)

On Saturday we had dinner with the Tantons and some other neighbors! It was fun to listen to David and Astrid playing guitar and drums! of course it wasn't complete without the amazing background music of the maracas from *cough* us! hahahaha :o)

I am SO enjoying playing every week with the worship group!

We are also SO enjoying having Hannah and Mr. John here! And Hannah got a car!!

Well, off to my homework!

Adios amigos!

Enjoy the pics!

Deep Thoughts with Lil :o)

Howdy friends!

Whoops... I have not blogged a lot this week... :P

Hannah is coming TOMORROW! I cannot believe it! I am so excited! Mr. John will be here too for ten days!

The tiling in the bathroom starts tomorrow! It's lookin' great!

Well, the Scott Family Craziness continued this week! Seriously we could be a reality tv show or something. haha. So last week someone stole an Easter egg from us. THIS week someone tried to steal my purse.... ahhh good times! On Wed at the ISC I left my purse in the locker room underneath all of my stuff. It had Mom's iPod and my nice glasses, and all my other misc. junk. :o) Anyway, there were two lifeguarding classes going on at the pool- I know a Mako would never try to steal my stuff. So during practice I came into the locker room and happened to go check my phone (my keys and phone were in another bag). I noticed my purse was gone. hmm. I had though about taking my purse out on the pool deck with me so I went and checked. No purse. I told my coach I couldn't find it. So I went back to look, thinking maybe I was just not seeing it. Still no purse. I looked through all of my stuff and on the pool deck several times. Some gals were trying to help me find it. After looking for a good 5-10 mins, I started getting worried. I got a text from Mom saying she was at the pool so I went outside to see her. "Someone stole my purse!" I exclaimed, having a breakdown. It is hard to grasp that there are evil people out there who want to steal your stuff! She went into the locker room with me and the Lord laid it on her heart that we should look through all of the lockers. Surely the person could not have slipped out of the bathroom with a purse! Anyway, we looked through all of the lockers. Sure enough, in the VERY LAST one, my purse sat. We were so thankful that the Lord helped us find it! ahhhh very scary! (and that was a very long story... :o)

Today is the baptism of Mr. Jon Finley!

Ahhhhh- this weather is so PERFECT!!! Everything has exploded in green!!! I love it!!

Today for the worship music we had piano, two guitars, drums, bass, and violin! It all sounds so beautiful- especially with the singing.

The sermon was really great today- it was titled "Living as the Elect" and how that is directly relational. Pastor Stephen talked about compassion, kindness (having a gracious attitude toward others), humility, meekness, and longsuffering (patience and forebearing through all, especially through what irks you or is difficult). It was also about going to the cross! Everything begins with the cross!

Our first DHT captain's meeting is on Tuesday! And the MTHEA Teen Banquet is Friday night!

Here are the lyrics of a song we sang today- I love it!

O Church Arise
by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend

O Church Arise and put your armour on
Hear the call of Christ our Captain
For now the weak can say that they are strong
In the strength that God has given
With shield of faith and belt of truth
We’ll stand against the devil’s lies
An army bold whose battle-cry is Love
Reaching out to those in darkness

Our call to war to love the captive soul
But to rage against the captor
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole
We will fight with faith and valour
When faced with trials on every side
We know the outcome is secure
And Christ will have the prize for which He died
An inheritance of nations

Come see the cross where love and mercy meet
As the Son of God is stricken
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet
For the Conqueror has risen
And as the stone is rolled away
And Christ emerges from the grave
This victory march continues till the day
Every eye and heart shall see Him

So Spirit come put strength in every stride
Give grace for every hurdle
That we may run with faith to win the prize
Of a servant good and faithful
As saints of old still line the way
Retelling triumphs of His grace
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
When with Christ we stand in glory

Be blessed today!

Easter weekend

Hey Friends!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We have had some action packed past few days! :o)

On Friday evening we went to the Yoder's for the annual BOTVB (usually BOTB- Burning of the Brown. I edited it to be Burning of the VERY Brown :o) What is BOTB? We burn our Christmas tree! It was very fun!! (yup so maybe we are pyros haha)

We went to have lunch and an easter egg hunt with Ms. Shulamith, Emily, and Callie on Saturday which was so fun!! It was fun even though some bozo got out of his car apparently, stole a hidden egg from the yard, got back into his car, and bragged about it to me while driving off. Most peculiar and strange. "Hey! Lookin' for this?" *holds up (empty) plastic green egg* "Peace out!!" *evil cackling while speeding away with said easter egg* It was super weird. I mean, seriously?! What kind of person steals eggs from small children?! Obviously some very messed person! haha :o) We still had a great time with our dear friends! We ate a delicious lunch, decorated easter eggs, had an easter egg hunt, went to the creek, played with kittens, and had lots of fun! :o)

On Easter Sunday, we went to church! I played all of the hymns for church and it all went very well! We just got a new sound system which sounds AHHHHMAZING!!!! :D And Mr Steve accompanied me (piano), Jeremy (lead and guitar), Michael (guitar), and Aaron (drums) playing his fiddle (or violin??). It sounded great! I really enjoy playing every week with these guys! ~:-) Jeremy taught and preached and they were both great. :o) Check out this link soon to listen online! That afternoon, after church, we went with Nana and Papa to the Meeks' house for Easter dinner! Yum! We had a great time of fellowship with them!

This week we are having our bathroom remodeled! Mr. Nick and Ms. Marlene are doing a great job! Yesterday we had a very exciting day... Something broke (?) and anyway, water came flooding out into our bathroom (which is the one being remodeled) and through the light fixture in the downstairs den over the old dining room table. It was CRAZY! It was like a shower! Nicholas, Mr. Nick and Ms. Marlene's son, was downstairs and all of the sudden I heard him yell, "It's coming out of the ceiling!" I started laughing when i saw it because it was just so crazy! Mr. Nick frantically started looking for a way to turn the water off. Ms. Marlene was being flooded in the bathroom while I was emptying the bucket underneath the dumping light fixture. Mom was calling Dad who was on the way to Dollywood to try to find the water turn off. Finally, like 10 or 15 mins later (who knows how long it was!) he found the shut off and the dumping ceased. Ahhh. It was very stressful! Not every day you have to save your house from a flood! Several hours later the stress of it all hit me and I felt like I needed a nap! haha :o) Anyway they are doing a great job!

Hannah is coming in five days!! Monday the 12th!! I am so excited for her to come!!!

Enjoy the pics!

Day 2
Day 1
Hey look it's raining in our house! This pic does not do justice to how much water was dumping out... This pic was taken after the water was turned off and it was just draining...
The "before" pic
Well, this was definitely a veryyyyy long post! Thanks for bearing with me ~:-)

Love,

Lily :o)

God is so good!

Some of our dear, dear neighbors have been trying to sell their house for a while. One day as I was walking back up our driveway from getting the mail, I noticed several cars were at their house for a showing. I prayed that the Lord would lay it on their hearts to put an offer on the house! I prayed that He would use it to build our faith and also of our neighbors trying to sell their house. Soon after praying for them, we went over to the neighbors next to the house for sale. While the same couple was looking at the house, ANOTHER couple showed up to see it! While they were waiting outside, Ms. Ulla and I spoke with the husband, praising the house and the neighborhood. :o) I kept praying for their house to sell! That was this past Wednesday. I just received an email from the house owner, Ms. Kathie, that BOTH of those couples had put an offer on the house! Is God not amazing?! I was so encouraged that He had laid it upon BOTH of their hearts! Even though we will very dearly miss our wonderful neighbors, I am glad that their house was able to sell. We love them very much and will miss them terribly!!
