wedding

This afternoon/evening Dad and I went to help a friend shoot a wedding! It was so much fun!! Dad and I are EXHAUSTED though!! The couple is absolutely adorable- and I so loved the bride! She is precious!! She was very cheerful and appreciative. They got married in Pleasant View and the reception was in Springfield. The friend we worked with was fabulous and so wonderful to work with! She was very patient and did not get super stressed or frustrated at all.

It was SUCH a wonderful experience!!!

i love my team.

The Makos are awesome. Last night the Whites graciously hosted the high schoolers for a bonfire!

Ben George: "Make smores not wars."
Jenny and Hannah: "Mother Lily" - in a British accent
"Library card"
Me: "I like eating food all the time."
Hannah: "I am so sorry Lindsey is eating the product." Me: "It's ok I still think it's cool."
Hannah: "If you buy your bump it now it is only $19.95!" Jenny: "With free handling and shipping!"
Hannah: "First your grab the bumpit. Got it? Ok now grab the hair. If you don't have hair that's ok- we sell wigs."

Thankful.

Wow. Today was a really great day!!!

I am so so so thankful for Whitver. I LOVE it!!! I really enjoy all the people!! My teachers and classes are awesome. Even though it may be a lot of work, I am happy. :o)

And I probably worried some people in chem class today getting really excited about empirical formulas ~:-)

It was really nice to get to chat with several people today that I don't get to see enough. (And I miss my freshman lit lab. just sayin.) I am also getting chemistry which was super happy, considering I wasn't getting it two weeks ago! I love Thursdays! A thought. Last week at band night, as I was sitting in awe of the wonderful performing, it hit me: whoa- these talented people are my friends!

Whitver folks- y'all are amazing.

The lovely Megan took my yearbook picture today! :D

And then, not only did I have a great day at school, Dad and I went to take some pictures at Scarritt! Dad is so amazing!! While we were at Scarritt they were filming a movie called Blue Like Jazz.

I am so blessed.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

The Spring Returns

Part of a sonnet we read for lit. This is by Francesco Petrarch, translated by Joseph Auslander. I really like the picture in these lines (1-4).

The spring returns, the spring wind softly blowing
Sprinkles the grass with gleam and glitter of showers,
Powdering pearl and diamond, dripping with flowers,
Dropping wet flowers, dancing the winters going...

Prayer

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

Pumpkins!

Pumpkins make me happy :o)

Happy Mole Day!

To all the chemists out there... Happy Mole Day!

Now folks. I'm not talkin our little furry friends under the ground. I'm talkin 6.02 x 10^23!

What is Mole Day? (might you ask! :o)

Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m., Mole Day commemorates Avogadro's Number (6.02 x 10^23), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. Mole Day was created as a way to foster interest in chemistry. Schools throughout the United States and around the world celebrate Mole Day with various activities related to chemistry and/or moles.

For a given molecule, one mole is a mass (in grams) whose number is equal to the atomic mass of the molecule. For example, the water molecule has an atomic mass of 18, therefore one mole of water weighs 18 grams. An atom of neon has an atomic mass of 20, therefore one mole of neon weighs 20 grams. In general, one mole of any substance contains Avogadro's Number of molecules or atoms of that substance. This relationship was first discovered by Amadeo Avogadro (1776-1858) and he received credit for this after his death.

Day 20- Your favorite ice cream

Ummm whoa. That's pretty much ALL ice cream. haha. On Thursday during class my lit teacher used an example involving ice cream. I was like, "Hey! That makes sense!" haha. Hmm. I love chocolate chip cookie dough, butterfinger, cake batter, vanilla, cinnamoo, sweet cece's... if it's called ice cream I like it!

Today.

Howdy folks!

Today has been a good day!

This evening was the Academy's Band Night! And it was AMAZING!!! All of the people at my school are crazy talented. So awesome!! Everyone did a great job and it was a wonderful evening! It was also so fun to see some people I haven't seen in a while! We need to get the rockin RBCN worship band up there. ~:-)

Swim team today was SO HARD. I was exhausted. We did 6 150s for warmup. Then iron mans. Iron mans are terrible. Then underovers (no breathing one lap then swim freestyle back) 14 25s with different forms of dryland on each end of the pool. Then we did a pyramid set. 1 50, 2 75s, 3 100s, 3 200s, 3 100s, 2 75s, and 1 50. All freestyle. Then we did sprints. Pretty sure my sprints were really slow. haha. It's hard but this is how we are going to get better. :o)

I miss my mommy. She is at a tennis championship in Chatty! I have always really appreciated the dear Mumsie but appreciate her even more after doing laundry and dishes. And not having someone make me food. :o) I love you Momb! :o)

I am very excited- I got a Flying Colours CD this evening! They are this amazing band- three guys that went to Whitver! Check their music out here.

Love,

Lily :o)

Chihuly!

As many of you know, the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens have a cool glass exhibit on display among the trees and gardens. The artist's name is Chihuly, and you have probably seen signs and billboards advertising the exhibition. It was scheduled to close at the end of October, but apparently Cheekwood has extended the exhibition for another week. What's more, Tuesday November 2nd will be a day of FREE admission. They have had a huge turnout for the exhibition this year, and this is their way of saying thanks to Nashville. So if you have thought about seeing it, but haven't yet, this might be your opportunity.

Adventures in Shakertown

Lady at the Shaker Meeting House: "I am now going to sing all 20,000 Shaker songs for you! Is no one going to stop me?" Random tourist- "Well you have a nice voice!" Shaker Lady *singing* "20,000 Shaker Songs!" haha.
Exciting story of the day: Mom and I were sitting in our little house doing homework. Everyone else was out and about. Suddenly the door opened and a random couple walked in. They thought the house was part of the tour. Mom- "Um this is just for lodging guests!" The man pulled out his key and waved it saying "We are lodging guests!" The lady finally got that it was a private house and was horrified. The man was ready to check out the rest of the house! haha it was funny! We saw our "friends" at the restaurant later this evening :o)
Here is a picture of the Main Dwelling!

The lost is found :o)

On our lovely adventure through fields and creeks and tall weeds, I lost one of my favorite earrings. Dear Dad came with me to look for it. Almost 2 hrs later and almost back to our little house, we found it!! God is so good!! So not only do I have my earring back, I am convinced I have the best dad in the whole world! It was a God thing! :D

You gave Your only Son Your joy and Your delight You nailed Him to the cross You crushed Him for our sin Now You love us like You love Him
