Howdy friends!
Whoops... I have not blogged a lot this week... :P
Hannah is coming TOMORROW! I cannot believe it! I am so excited! Mr. John will be here too for ten days!
The tiling in the bathroom starts tomorrow! It's lookin' great!
Well, the Scott Family Craziness continued this week! Seriously we could be a reality tv show or something. haha. So last week someone stole an Easter egg from us. THIS week someone tried to steal my purse.... ahhh good times! On Wed at the ISC I left my purse in the locker room underneath all of my stuff. It had Mom's iPod and my nice glasses, and all my other misc. junk. :o) Anyway, there were two lifeguarding classes going on at the pool- I know a Mako would never try to steal my stuff. So during practice I came into the locker room and happened to go check my phone (my keys and phone were in another bag). I noticed my purse was gone. hmm. I had though about taking my purse out on the pool deck with me so I went and checked. No purse. I told my coach I couldn't find it. So I went back to look, thinking maybe I was just not seeing it. Still no purse. I looked through all of my stuff and on the pool deck several times. Some gals were trying to help me find it. After looking for a good 5-10 mins, I started getting worried. I got a text from Mom saying she was at the pool so I went outside to see her. "Someone stole my purse!" I exclaimed, having a breakdown. It is hard to grasp that there are evil people out there who want to steal your stuff! She went into the locker room with me and the Lord laid it on her heart that we should look through all of the lockers. Surely the person could not have slipped out of the bathroom with a purse! Anyway, we looked through all of the lockers. Sure enough, in the VERY LAST one, my purse sat. We were so thankful that the Lord helped us find it! ahhhh very scary! (and that was a very long story... :o)
Today is the baptism of Mr. Jon Finley!
Ahhhhh- this weather is so PERFECT!!! Everything has exploded in green!!! I love it!!
Today for the worship music we had piano, two guitars, drums, bass, and violin! It all sounds so beautiful- especially with the singing.
The sermon was really great today- it was titled "Living as the Elect" and how that is directly relational. Pastor Stephen talked about compassion, kindness (having a gracious attitude toward others), humility, meekness, and longsuffering (patience and forebearing through all, especially through what irks you or is difficult). It was also about going to the cross! Everything begins with the cross!
Our first DHT captain's meeting is on Tuesday! And the MTHEA Teen Banquet is Friday night!
Here are the lyrics of a song we sang today- I love it!
O Church Arise
by Keith Getty & Stuart Townend
O Church Arise and put your armour on
Hear the call of Christ our Captain
For now the weak can say that they are strong
In the strength that God has given
With shield of faith and belt of truth
We’ll stand against the devil’s lies
An army bold whose battle-cry is Love
Reaching out to those in darkness
Our call to war to love the captive soul
But to rage against the captor
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole
We will fight with faith and valour
When faced with trials on every side
We know the outcome is secure
And Christ will have the prize for which He died
An inheritance of nations
Come see the cross where love and mercy meet
As the Son of God is stricken
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet
For the Conqueror has risen
And as the stone is rolled away
And Christ emerges from the grave
This victory march continues till the day
Every eye and heart shall see Him
So Spirit come put strength in every stride
Give grace for every hurdle
That we may run with faith to win the prize
Of a servant good and faithful
As saints of old still line the way
Retelling triumphs of His grace
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
When with Christ we stand in glory
Be blessed today!
Lily :o)
