Blog Challenge Day 18

Day 18- Plans/dreams/goals you have

My main goal in life is to glorify the Lord in everything I do! I pray that my life honors Him in all I do.

I feel called to working for the prolife ministry- and I would also love to do something in the medical field (maybe a nurse practitioner?) and maybe something to do with publicity! And of course I want to be a wife and mom! :o)

PROLIFE

Nashville's Grace Pregnancy Resource Center- over 200 babies have been saved at Grace! GPRC is two buildings down from Nashville's biggest abortion clinic. Many people come to Grace thinking it is the abortion clinic. One woman recently came thinking it was the abortion clinic and after speaking with someone at Grace, decided to keep her baby! The Lord is really doing amazing things through Grace! Grace will soon have an ultrasound machine! All of the services provided by GPRC are free.

Most recent update:

Good afternoon,

Just a quick note to praise the Lord for the baby saved Sat. the 14th!

Precious young woman came in thinking she was at the abortion facility.

Her boyfriend was with her and sat in the front room while we talked.

She left the office still undecided, but armed with information to share and discuss with her boyfriend.

I have continued to follow up with her a couple of times during the last 10 days.

She told me today they have decided to parent!

Praise the Lord for another answered prayer.

Again today the abortion numbers were down on the hill.

There were two doctors and several workers but only about 11 cars.

Please keep praying for closure of the Women’s Center and for doctors and nurses hearts to change.

Joke Time!

Ahh, nothin' like reminiscing good ole Greystone jokes!

Ike, Pike, and Mustard
The Quasimodo joke
the terribly gruesome Patty story
... and more...

And another one (don't think it's a Greystone joke)

Two blondes were looking at the moon in the night sky. One said, "Which do you think is closer, the moon or Florida?" And the other one said, "Duh! Can you see Florida?!" hahahaha

Do you have any good jokes? Comment on this post!

It's true!

From the Living magazine:

"Just five minutes of activity in the open air, such as walking, cycling, or gardening, boosts self-esteem significantly, say researchers at the University of Essex, England."

It is very true! My day always greatly improves after a nice walk (especially on Tuesdays when I have my chat with Jenny ~:-)

Speaking of improving my day, I was super excited to get this freebie in the mail yesterday! It also came with a coupon! Check it out! Want to see more freebies and deals? Check out Money Saving Mom! It is awesome!

I am alive!

Hey friends!

Well, surprisingly after two very intense weeks of work at camp, the conference, hardly any sleep, and school starting this Thursday, I am still alive!

Wow. There is SO much to say! The latest news will probably come in spurts since I have an insane week ahead of me. School starts this Thurs for me and I have a whole week's worth of homework due then. Wonderful.

The conference was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is SO SO SO SO SO SO good and faithful!!! I have not received an official registration count but it was between 1400-200o! Whoo hoo! More coming!

Camp- wow. I cannot describe it. Two of the most intense and crazy weeks of my life but two very good weeks. I became very close to many of the folks I was working with. I was getting 6 hrs of sleep a night plus working like a crazy person so am still recovering!

Julia and I could not have survived without our darling Jessie Rae. I really don't know what we would have done without her! Died probably! ~:-) She stuck up for us and was always very supportive. I am SO glad that she came with us!!

More later!!! Please pray for me this week!

Love,

Lily :o)

Camp Update!

Started 8.8.10 at camp

Hey friends!
We sure are missing all of y'all!
Camp has been really fun! We are super busy and have been working very hard but it is still very fun! Julia, Jessie Rae, and I are all part of the dish crew. Dish washes all of the dishes! ~:-) Prep prepares all of the food and takes care of the salad and fruit bar. Bakery makes the bread, rolls, and desserts. The cooks make all of the food!
A little more about Dish:
There are lots of jobs in the dishroom. There is the drink job- you fill up all of the pitchers and when rush comes you are helping two men staff put cups, pitchers, and mugs into the racks to go through Chester. Two people do the drink job. There is the big sink- 3-4 people are washing the plates. Slop- one person (Lo did it) dumps all of the leftover food into the slop bucket and sends salad bowls, platter, and other misc. items to the left and plates and bowls to big sink on the right. On the two sinks to the left of slop, two people (it was usually Bishop and Caila) wash salad bowls, pans, platters, and other misc items along with the middle sink (Micah did that one). Several people load all of the plates, platters, bowls, salad bowls, and everything else onto racks to go through Chester. Jessie Rae was our main loader with several other people. One person loads the racks from the middle island to Chester and moves the silverware back and forth. The silverware has to go through Chester 3 times. Derek was our other main Chester loader. Then 2-4 people unload everything from Chester. Plates, cups, pans, bowls, salad bowls, and other misc items from bakery, prep, or cook side.

I preferred to unload or do big sink! Otherwise I did everything else a couple of times except for slop.
